"No one has yet fully realized the wealth of sympathy, kindness and generosity hidden in the soul of a child. The effort of every true education should be to unlock that treasure."
-Emma Goldman
What inspires and excites me the most about my advocacy plan and being an advocate is the fact that I get to help our children. Because the children are our future, I feel that it is my goal to provide them with the best quality education and resources possible to make sure that it is a bright future we have. The challenges that I have related to engaging in the advocacy efforts I have targeted included developing short and long term goals. When I think of short term goals, I think of things I want to accomplish today, this week, this month. When I think of long term goals, I think of things that I want to accomplish within the next couple of years. I want to make sure that I make goals that are realistic and not to lofty. It is quite a challenge for me still. With the help of my colleagues, I will over come this challenges and the anxieties of presenting. After reading some my colleagues, I am able to see their short and long term goals as an example. By the end of this course, I should be confident to present my action plan. After doing so many assignments, developing the action plan, and reading my Kieff text, I should be ready. We can all encourage each other by reminding ourselves who these plans are for. They are for the children to prosper and achieve their full potential. If we keep the one goal of our children at hand, we can accomplish any thing.
